Tik-Tok and LinkedIn

Good morning

I've been asked to host a special online event in February on the power of LinkedIn and TikTok, with my good friend Anne-Marie Martin (a powerhouse when it comes to TikTok). So I thought this week, I would give you 3 awesome reasons on how TikTok can work nicely with LinkedIn in ways you might not have thought about before.

Before I begin, let me just point out that TikTok doesn't have to be as scary as many make it out to be, in terms of your content. You can easily create TikTok video's with a simple moving image and audio, or even a screen-share and your voice (which is what I do).

TikTok is incredible for building your brand- this means getting exposure, and it's an amazing way to get your audiences attention. I've only created 2 TikTok videos, but within the first 24 hours, my second video had hundreds of views, and resulted in over 15 new connection requests on LinkedIn. I'm still fairly new to TikTok myself, but after learning from Anne-Marie, I'm now underway and finally getting my video's out there.

Anyway, here are those 3 tips.

1. TikTok can be used to create short, engaging videos that provide tips and insights on various professional topics. These videos can be shared inside your LinkedIn featured section - which means your video can be visible right in the centre of your profile page. This can be done in the form of a direct link, or uploaded as a native video.

2. You can link your LinkedIn profile to your TikTok account or embed it inside the description of your TikTok video. Think of it this way, you might only have 1 or 2 TikTok videos, but it's an audience that might not be on LinkedIn. Doing this means that a fresh new audience can be sent to your LinkedIn profile, where your recommendations and content are waiting.

3. Similar to point number 1, you can also share your TikTok videos inside your LinkedIn posts. Why not create an evergreen video inside TikTok (video's that aren't date specific), and diarise to schedule this video every month to keep the engagement up?
