Make me understand what problem you solve INSTANTLY

05/08/2022

The most common mistake when it comes to using LinkedIn, in my opinion, is not making it clear to your audience 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲.

Let's start with the banner.

When someone lands on your #LinkedIn profile, their eyes are instantly drawn to your banner. Do they see a nice sunset, or a pretty waterfall, or have you mastered your banner to say exactly what problem you solve for your clients?

You've got 7 seconds to convince them to stay on your page, so use it wisely.

What about your headline?

Here's one I saw this week :

"Digital innovator | keeping your business moving | founder of XVZ | #gettingthingsdone to help owners create change"

This headline does not give me any indication of what problem is being solved here. Helping business owners create change? Change with what? What type of business owners? Moving where - forwards or backwards? Help me out here!!!

And then comes the ABOUT section. Take a look at your about section - are you one of the many millions who have started nearly every sentence with 'I'? Making it all about you, rather than the problems and situations your clients face on a daily basis?

This is just a tiny part of the puzzle when it comes to using LinkedIn as the perfect networking tool, lead generation platform, and relationship builder.

If you're looking to enhance the way you grow your network, boost your brand, create great content, reach a wider audience with your messaging and catapult your business in to the digital realm, then take a look at the link in the comments and free up 90 minutes this coming Wednesday evening for a Making Digital Real avoiding the Summer sales slump special.
